Project Description Country: USA Location: Glendale, Arizona Total Budget: $3,026 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Literacy Summary: 14 books shelves and reading books for grades K-3 for Landmark Elementary located in Glendale, Arizona Landmark Elementary converted from a high school to a K-7 grade school. Their classrooms are not sufficiently supplied with classroom bookshelves or books for a grade school. The Glendale West Rotary (GWR) club is purchasing 14 good quality books shelves directly from a wholesaler for 7 to 14 K-3 elementary classrooms. These bookshelves will be installed by club members. GWR is also purchasing reading books chosen by the teachers to fill these shelves. Pictures and story will be developed during and after project. A press release will be sent to local media contacts, District 5490, and GWR newsletter and website.
