The Rotaract Club of San Diego State University is requesting funding to help put on RISE again in the Spring of 2019. RISE is the Rotaract Interact Spring Exchange, and it is a time when Rotaract and Interact members can meet each other to help prepare the high school students for life in college and beyond.
RISE will take place in mid-March, and starts off at about 9am and runs the length of the day. Our goal and mission for the event is to educate high school students on what Rotaract is, along with showing them beneficial ways to better themselves in various areas. RISE features keynote speakers along with collaborative workshops the focus on professionalism, public speaking, team building, leadership, and goal setting to allow students to believe in themselves and see what future accomplishments await them after they leave high school. It is a time for high school students to see college as an exciting period of growth where friendly faces like Rotaract members thrive. We want to see our communities excel, and feel that getting the next generation excited about service above self early on is the best way to do so.
We are requesting funding to allow for this event to take place again this year, as it has in the past. Last year we were able to serve and touch more students than we had even expected, and we want to do the same this upcoming March. Our funding request is estimated based off of previous costs and expenditures from years past.
Thank you for your consideration, have an excellent day.
