Our past president was fundamental in recognizing the need for vocational education and in helping create a vocational training program in the Colorado Early Colleges High School, a charter school in Fort Collins, CO. Students in the construction trade will build a home in prefabricated units for assembly in Mexico. While the houses will ultimately end up in Juarez, Mexico, we consider this component a local project with the local students learning construction skills related to housing that can help them obtain skilled construction jobs. This project has been successfully implemented in Denver through the South Jeffco Rotary Club and that club will provide transportation to Mexico. We will use the money to purchase the material needed to build the home. Each home costs $1600.00 to build. We are asking for matching funds
Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed)
The Fort Collins Rotary after Work club will be involved in build days at the vocational school in order to complete the building of this home to be shipped to Juarez.
