Project Description Country: USA Location: Chappell, NE Total Budget: $1,000 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Literacy Summary: The Chappell, Nebraska Rotary Club will provide dictionaries to third graders in Deuel County. The basic literacy and education of children is enhanced by all children having access to a dictionary at an early age. Chappell Rotary can ensure that all third graders in Deuel County receive a dictionary with the assistance of this grant. Depending on the funds received, dictionaries will be distributed in this priority order: 3rd Graders of Creek Valley School located in Chappell, (20-25 students estimated); Home-Schooled Children in Chappell area (3-5 students estimated); 3rd graders in Big Springs (15 - 20 students estimated); Home-Schooled children in Deuel County outside of Chappell (2-4 students estimated). Any dictionaries not distributed in the fall of 2013 will be distriuted in a subsequent year.
