We will have Josh the Otter costume here March 31st and the first two weeks of April. Times are scheduled with kindergarten classrooms at McDaid and North Platte Public Schools. Committee is working to get Our Redeemer Lutheran school and the home school group lined up as well. One of our Interact members is from Sutherland and is going to contact her school about lining up a time there. I have ordered 450 books, total of $1,462.50. We may order more books if neighboring towns are added.

Josh the Otter project for 2014 is complete.

Project Detail: We read to over 400 kindergarteners in 12 different schools which included all of North Platte Public Schools, McDaid Elementary and Our Redeemer school. All students met Josh and took the Water Safety Pledge. They each received a book with CD, activity sheet and sticker.

Finances: Total amount spent was $1,523.78 for 450 Josh the Otter books $1,462.50) and stickers saying they were provided by Rotary ($61.28). We did not have any shipping fees as rotarians were able to pick up and return the costume to Lincoln this year.

Publicity: Photos were shared on our Rotary club's facebook page and television station KNOP did an interview at Cody School with Rotarian John Hales about the program.
