Peace: General
Summary: In order to provide better service to our veteran community Neptune Warrior is seeking to purchase 5 sets of women's specific scuba gear which will ensure our ability to get more women into the water to help them with PTSD.
As Neptune Warrior has worked with our veteran community they've found that due to different body types and sizes that general scuba gear does not fit women well. This project is to purchase 5 sets of women's specific scuba hear including BCDs (Buoyancy Compensation Device)at $335 each and shorter 63cf air tanks aat $169.95. They additionally need some wet-suits for the women and they'll be specifying them as an order through Amazon. As the pool tends to degrade wet-suits quickly due to the chlorine in the water, they'll be buying much cheaper wet-suits which last just about as well as the expensive ones that can be ordered through the dive shop. The timeline is as soon as we can reasonably get this done. They currently have women in the program and this will allow for them to be better equipped for learning to scuba in the water. At the moment club members will be mainly involved in funding the project and the gear will be purchased through Boise Scuba Center which already donates a significant amount of tank refills to Neptune Warrior.
