Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Curtis, NE

Total Budget: $700

Area of Focus: Economic and community development

Activity Type: Community Development: General

Summary: Seating area for the the first phase of the Curtis Walking trail in Curtis , Nebraska.

The Community of Curtis, Ne is putting in a walking trail to encourage tourists and residents to circle the town and see what is in the area. This project will be done in many phases and the first phase is where we want to implement the Rotary grant and promote our service group. We would like to make a seating area for a place to rest and take in the sights of nature in our community. This project will require a bench , some mulch, and a placard , perhaps some native plantings as well to enhance the look. Our project will be started in August and should be completed by May of the following year, this will include the planning , building, installation, planting, and reporting.

It is approaching the 6 month mark for this project. We are indeed going forth with the project. The bench has been ordered and is to be delivered to Curtis in the near future. We are now awaiting an improvement in the weather to locate the proper spot for installing the natural material bench that will promote Rotary as well as enhance the beauty of the new walking trail in Curtis. As we walk the trail to find the correct spot I will include photos to the project log to enhance the project

The project is in full swing- the site on the trail has been decided. Rotarians and volunteers formed and poured the concrete pad that will be the foundation for our bench to arrive in the next two weeks.
