Summary: Project will provide bicycles to children in qualifying socioeconomic sector of Scottsdale
Funding will provide for purchase of bicycles and helmets, which after assembly by club members, will be donated to the holiday program at the City of Scottsdale Vista Del Camino (VDC) Community Center. The specific items to be purchased will be determined with VDC staff based on the needs of the families that have been screened and selected to participate in the program. Approximately 30 children of Scottsdale families, who financially qualify to receive the bicycles will benefit from the program. Fifteen to 20 Club Members will assemble the bikes with assistance of trained bike shop personnel to ensure the safety of the bikes. This program has been conducted the last 6 years and has been very much appreciated by the VDC community and children receiving the bikes.
