Project Description Country: USA Location: Tempe, AZ Total Budget: $4,000 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Literacy Summary: Dictionarys provided to 3rd graders within the Tempe School district Our club each year hosts a local "dictionary project". Tempe has a high rate of low income families & underprivileged children who do not own books or computers. We order dictionary's to supply to the local 3rd graders within the Tempe School district & set up times for members of Tempe South to visit these students, teach them about Rotary, & give them an overview of the dictionary's. These dictionary's provide access to a number of learning avenues & advance their education for the children who may otherwise not have access to this information. This project will begin in the winter of 2019 and will be completed by the spring of 2020.
