Project Description Country: USA Location: Chadron, NE Total Budget: $625 Area of Focus: Community economic development Activity Type: Community Development: Construction/Renovation Summary: Our club will be purchasing a mile marker for the new Rails to Trails bike/running trail that stretches across the state of Nebraska The Rails to Trails program has been an on going project with many different towns in the state of Nebraska. Currently the trail ends somewhere outside of Valentine, NE and the towns of Gordon, Rushville and Chadron are in process of completing our respected legs of this trail ending in Chadron, NE. The Rails to Trails program has currently been awarded a grant from the Nebraska Game and Parks which allows for the start of the Rails to Trails section for Chadron to begin. Our Chadron Club has already donated $2,000 to help with funds for the project which will give a us ROTARY plaque to present on a bridge crossing. We will be using the district grant money to purchase a mile marker as an ongoing effort to help raise funds to complete the Rails to Trails project.
