The Waymakers HB Youth Shelter is a 12-bed emergency crisis intervention refuge for homeless, runaway, abused, and at-risk youth ages 11 to 17. Immediate emergency support and counseling are offered in order to divert youth from running away, resolve conflicts at home, work for family reconciliation, and assist in finding long term family shelter or housing. Daily activities enable youth to develop healthier behaviors and life skills. Every year, the Youth Shelter serves approximately 175 youth and 350 family members.
There are 6 bedrooms in the shelter, each containing 2 beds. The current beds are 13 years old and have old metal frames. Our Club will purchase and assemble the new beds in the Shelter.
