Project Description Country: USA Location: Glendale, AZ Total Budget: $4,200 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Literacy Summary: Dictionaries delivered to 1250 third-graders in the Glendale Elementary School District, Arizona The Glendale West Rotary Club has partnered with the Glendale Elementary School District and identified the need to provide every third-grader with their own dictionary (~1250 students)to support literacy. Nearly 90% of students in the Glendale Elementary School District qualify for free or reduced school lunch; the needs of the students are great. The Club will purchase the dictionaries in RY19-20 Q1 and have them delivered by end of Q2. All Club members will participate by labeling the dictionaries with Rotary's Four-Way-Test and delivering them directly to all third-graders. This is an annual project for the Glendale West Rotary Club.
