Project Description Country: USA Location: Idaho Falls, ID Total Budget: $3,240 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Literacy Summary: Providing 1080 students dictionaries to 3rd graders in Bonneville School District 93 Idaho Falls,ID Third grade is when students have learned to read and are now ready to read and learn about the world around them. East Idaho Falls Rotary Club members will raise funds to purchase the dictionaries through a variety of fund-raising events. The books will be ordered in August and distributed to the students personally by members and friends of the club. Fourteen elementary schools will benefit from this project. School administrators and teachers tell us this dictionary program is a highlight of the students' school year. 1080 dictionaries will be purchased at a cost of $3.00 each; Total budget $3240.00 Our club will contribute $1620 through fund-raising and donations; $1620 will come from DDF funds.
