Project Description Country: USA Location: District 5400 Total Budget: $3,000 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Scholarship Summary: Scholarships for one college freshman, one college sophomore and one college senior The District 5400 Scholarship program supports a student for four years at $1,000/year, as long as the student continues to meet the criteria established by the district scholarship committee and maintains full-time student status as required by the scholarship. This grant will provide $1,000 each to continuing students Addie White and Mya Webber as well as a college freshman to be selected and who is planning to pursue a 4-year degree. The other student who was part of our scholarship program did not meet the criteria for the funding and his scholarship has been terminated. All students must be currently residing in Rotary District 5400 and planning to attend a community college or university located within the district or within the State of Idaho. Applications for the two new scholarships will be made available to students throughout the district upon approval of this grant to be reviewed by the scholarship selection committee. The announcement of the scholarship recipients shall take place no later than September 1, 2019. The district received more requests for DDF than money available requiring that cuts be made in funding of the grant for “college scholarships” is reduced to $3000 to fund the two continuing students and one incoming freshman. We have cancelled the signature process and adjusted the financing to reflect this.
