Patti Mortweet /April Moranville - $500 Homes for Our Troops

Our district grand for Homes for Our Troops will help injured veterans rebuild their lives. Our donation will help build a custom home for a wounded veteran.

Our club will donate $500 to match this district grant.

Project location : San Diego

Area of Focus: Economic & Community Development: The mission of Homes for our Troops is to build and donate specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans, to enable them to rebuild their lives. There have been 19 projects in San Diego and Riverside County, with 3 homes currently in build. There is zero cost to the veteran, and 90 cents of every dollar goes directly toward programs /services for the Veteran. Homes for Our Troops had been evaluated as one of America's top rated Veterans and military charities. To improve their post home delivery support, Homes for our Troops is continuing to expand their network of nonprofits, corporations, and government entities to provide assistance with employment, education, training, health and other issues. In addition, Homes for Our Troops exceeds Energy Star standards on all homes, which saves Veterans up to 30 percent on their household energy bills.
