Community Development: Construction/Renovation
Summary: Repair leaking roofs of four Domestic Violence Transitional Housing Units for homeless survivors of domestic violence in North San DiegoCounty
The Community Resource Center (CRC) provides emergency assistance, case management services, counseling, shelter, and food assistance to low income individuals and families, including domestic violence victims and their children, to provide paths to safety, stability and self-sufficiency. In 2017, over 17,000 domestic violence incidents were reported to law enforcement in San Diego County. Children were present in about 37% of the cases. CRC owns four Transitional Housing units for victims of domestic violence and their families. The Transitional Housing Units have aging leaking roofs. CRC has approached Encinitas Rotary Club for assistance toward repairing the leaking roofs. Encinitas Rotary Club members will monitor the procurement and implementation, and also coordinate with CRC for Rotary at Work Projects. Encinitas Rotary Club members also pack Holiday Food Boxes for CRC each year, and the Club has a long history of supporting CRC as a crucial safety net in our community.
