Project Description Country: USA Location: Coronado Total Budget: $4,000 Areas of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment, Maternal and child health, Basic education and literacy, Community economic development Activity Type: Education: General Summary: Support for the Missionvale Care Center outside Port Elizabeth, South Africa Coronado Rotary members (11 people) visited the Missionvale Care Center in May 2018. We indentified tremendous needs and are regularly in touch with Linda at the Center. At the moment, the following is needed: 1) The children at the elementary school need basic drawstring bags that can hold A4 size books to take their projects and books to school and home again. 2) The caregivers need new backpacks to carry the medicines and bandages they use for home visits to the infirm, sick and disabled in the township of Missionvale. 3) Sports supplies for the new netball team made up from girls attending the after school program. They are playing club netball in Port Elizabeth and new uniforms and supplies will help them feel proud and confident when they play inter-school competition.
