Several years ago Arlington Sunrise Rotary, in conjunction with Child Protective services, planned an Adoption Awareness Picnic where foster children and prospective adoptive parents could meet with the anticipated outcome of the adoption of foster children. The event was deemed a success with a number of children being adopted. Building on that success, the event has grown through the years from just the participation of Arlington Sunrise to the participation of most of the Arlington clubs in the event. It is now held annually in the spring of each year. The funds requested would be used for expenses for the event such as food, games and gifts for the children. Funds would be required in the spring of 2020. Club members are involved in setting up the meeting facility, preparing food, setting up games and interfacing with prospective adoptive families and with the foster children.
