Project Description Country: Kenya Location: Watoto Total Budget: $1,140 Area of Focus: Community economic development Activity Type: Community Development: General Summary: The school would like to buy one more oven, pay the business license and food handlers fee to the city, pay the 6 months & buy more pans and packaging. This year the school needs help hiring a teacher for Saturdays to teach the kids baking skills and to package the products for sale. They would also like to buy a second oven so that more kids can participate. Saturday teacher's salary for 6 months & buy more pans and packaging. The teenagers would like to learn a job trade and help support the school. This bakery is an ongoing sustainable project to provide funds for the school year that will help benefit the children with both warm meals and monetary support. They also told me that they would like to involve the children's parents in the classes so that they can learn a skill and be able to afford to support their own children.
