The Rotaract Club of San Diego State University is requesting funding to help put on the Rotaract Interact Spring Exchange (R.I.S.E.) again in the Spring of 2020. R.I.S.E. is a time for Rotaract and Interact members to meet and prepare for life in college and beyond.
R.I.S.E. will take place in mid-March and is an all-day activity. Our goal and mission for the event is to educate high school students on what Rotaract is, and show them how to become their best selves. R.I.S.E. features keynote speakers and collaborative workshops that focus on professionalism, public speaking, team building, leadership, and goal setting. Developing these skills increases the students' confidence and helps them visualize their potential for future accomplishments.
R.I.S.E. is a time for high school students to get exposure to how many opportunities there are for students in college. Additionally, their interactions with Rotaract members who are both active in the community and friendly faces will help the Interact members feel more comfortable on a college campus. SDSU's Rotaract wants to see our communities excel, and getting the next generation excited about service above self early on is the best way to do so.
We are requesting funding to allow for this event to take place again this year, as it has in the past. Each year we were able to serve and touch more students, and we hope to do the same this upcoming March. Our funding request is estimated based off of previous costs and expenditures.
