Project Description Country: South Africa Location: Port Elizabeth Total Budget: $30,000 Area of Focus: Community economic development Activity Type: Community Development: General Summary: Ablution facilities are needed for the Hall at Oliver House, so that it may be rented out to the public and can be a paying proposition for the Khayalethu Youth Centre as a whole. This project will take place in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. The Khayalethu Oliver House (known as K2) was established in 2007 and provides an opportunity for those Khayalethu boys who have completed their formal schooling to extend their stay for a period of time, in order to better prepare for the workplace and lifeoutside of Khayalethu.Part of the strength in the success of the Khayalethu Oliver House has been to align with reputable and caring businesses such as Rotary and other organizations. It is imperative that companies build a relationship with Khayalethu over time in order for them to want to invest in the future of the young men at Khayalethu Oliver House.
