Project Description Country: USA Location: San Diego County Total Budget: $1,000 Area of Focus: None Activity Type: Food/Agriculture: General Summary: Grant to provide funds to buy food for people in San Diego County who are experiencing food insecurity due to Covid-19 due to loss of work, not being in school and the like. The economic impact of the Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic is vast: schools are closed, businesses are threatened, and tens of thousands of people are newly out of work. The Salvation Army is helping to provide for people in need during this crisis. One way they are assisting is providing food/groceries to those in need during these uncertain times. Rancho Santa Fe Rotary wants to use this grant to help the Salvation provide urgently needed meals during this crisis. The Rancho Santa Fe Foundation voted to contribute an additional $750 so that along with the District grant we can contribute $1000. Both the District Grant money and the Foundation money would be contributed immediately upon receipt of the grant.
