The North County Food Bank of Vista, California, is a chapter of the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank. It's mission is to provide nutritious food to people in need, advocate for the hungry and educate the public about hunger-related issues. We seek this grant to provide resources to the Food Bank in Vista, CA to allow them to expand their feeding programs to accommodate the poorest of the poor.
Many of the poorest families and individuals in North County San Diego have been negatively impacted by the recent COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, many lower SES families, individuals, the recently unemployed, and the homeless now find themselves without the means to feed themselves or their families. Rotary 78 Rotary has become increasingly aware that many families and individuals have gone without food over the last two weekends. This grant would provide funds for North County Food Bank in Vista, CA., to provide food for these individuals and their families. Route 78 Rotary is committed to serving the poorest of the poor in North County San Diego.
