Summary: Restoration to exisitng (built in 1970) playground at Historical Sandy Beach park for all to enjoy

Historical Sandy Beach is a highly sought after place to gather within walking distance for the locals and visitors alike. This location has several beautiful open-sided covered log shelters with fireplaces, and an ideal spot for a playground structure. Currently there is one swing and slide that was installed by our local Rotary club in the 1970's and is in disrepair and needs to be removed. The community has asked our Borough for updates to this playground but there has not been any funding allocated to the project.

Our club has taken it upon ourselves to solicit bids for the most economical design and installation of a park that will compliment the space to enhance a child's experience of the outdoor recreational area by having traditional playground equipment along with tree and rock climbing walls, as well as outdoor musical instruments and historical influences. This will draw families in to gather, and enjoy the outdoors, recreate, and allow their children to safely play.

There will need to be site work done prior to the installation of the new equipment. We have elected to break this project into phases. The first phase will be site work. The total bid to prepare the site for the playground is $20,000. Once completed we will be able to move forward with the procurement and installation of the playground. The total estimate for this project will be $120,000 but we have decided to break this into phases. The first phase will cost $20,000.

Although we were hoping to have this playground completed within the year, we anticipate the construction time line to be 18 months due to current economic factors.
