Summary: Non-perishable Food and Hygiene Items Distribution for Community of Blythe
Many impoverished and senior citizens within the City of Blythe, in California USA and they have been impacted severely by the COVID Crisis. Many folks have been laid off of work, and with the increase in food prices, as well as, the scarcity of hygiene supplies within our community this has made the crisis even worse for less fortunate residents. Our community is extremely isolated from larger cities that have multiple grocery outlets. We are limited to only two locations that have groceries, available to our residents. This project can assist our community by combining funds and resources with other non-profit groups within our small city. Our goal is to partner with our local food pantry and offer supplemental non-perishable food and hygiene items to the community. The grant funding will be used to purchase bulk items from discounted and warehouse stores outside of our community, then transported back and distributed to needy residents. The Rotary Club of Blythe will also partner with other community organizations to conduct a local food drive, where additional items will be collected for distribution.
