Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Chicago-LittleVillage

Total Budget: $500

Areas of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment, Maternal and child health, Community economic development

Activity Type: Health: General

Summary: This is a COVID-19 project directed toward reducing hunger in the Little Village community of Chicago, illinois

As a result of the COVID-19 virus pandemic, the community members in Little Village have been hit hard by both an extremely level of virus infection, which is one of the highest infection rates in the City of Chicago, and also by the loss of many jobs, because of the low-skilled jobs that many in the community have. Many are in hourly paid jobs and don't qualify for unemployment compensation, nor have they been able to access any relief funds from the State or Federal government.

Hunter is widespread.

This District Grant will be matched by funds from the Chicago-Little Village Club. Our Club previously contributed to this particular Food Pantry which distributes food boxes four days a week.

Hi Leonard,

I want to remind you that your club’s final report for District Grant #3370, Food Pantry Support, is more than 120 days past due. It is critical that you file your report now. The due date is two weeks from today: Monday, May 31, 2021. This is a hard deadline. Failure to meet the deadline may result in losing your club’s 2021-2022 District Grant allocation. Additionally, filing a late report delays 2021-2022 allocations for the entire district.

Please let me know if I can help in any way,

Thanks

Sue
