Project Description Country: USA Location: Jackson, Wyoming Total Budget: $37,278 Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment Activity Type: Education: General Summary: Equip and support a Programmable Teaching Mannequin for the Central Wyoming College Nursing School trauma program. Central Wyoming College has identified a need to create and maintain a "State of the Art" learning and teaching center to train students at the new Nurses College being built in Jackson, Wyoming. Classes are currently being held at the Center for the Arts building on Cache Street, Jackson, Wyoming while we await construction of the college. The focus is on Trauma Nurses education teaching the latest interactive learning technologies to develop clinical judgement skills in a virtual environment. The Programmable Teaching Mannequin is a human body simulator that can be programmed for a variety of conditions and exhibit symptoms of those conditions. Nursing students will practice diagnosing and treating those conditions. The goal is to enable and train trauma nursing students to treat and prevent disease for patients in crisis in Wyoming and surrounding areas. The funds will be used immediately to purchase the simulator and software as well as install and provide guidance for the staff. These are virtual products available to benefit all CWC locations in Wyoming.
