Project Description Country: USA Location: San Diego Total Budget: $1,000 Area of Focus: Peacebuilding and conflict prevention Activity Type: Peace: Volunteer Services Summary: This program is a vital resource for both newly arrived refugees, asylees, and immigrant visa holders The International Rescue Committee in San Diego serves 7,771 unique clients from over 100 different countries. In the area of settlement, families receive support and guidance in enrolling children in school. The IRC also provides vocational ESL classes and employment case management. Their youth programs are focused on academic support such as tutoring, youth leadership, and community engagement.
