Project Description Country: USA Location: Oceanside, CA Total Budget: $4,000 Area of Focus: Economic and community development Activity Type: Community Development: General Summary: Purchase kitchen equipment for a Veterans Association in Oceanside, CA The Veterans Association of North County (VANC) is establishing the Veterans Memorial Building at 1617 Mission Ave., Oceanside, in a 10,000sf building provided by the City of Oceanside. Already established as a 501 (c) 3 non-profit, the VANC plans to provide a center where veterans and their families can receive aid, be connected to needed resources, and sponsor social and patriotic functions. It is estimated that there are 80,000 military veterans in North County who may avail themselves of the association's services and its facility. Among the amenities to be provided in the building is a full-service kitchen. The Rotary Club of El Camino Real would like to join with the Rotary Clubs of Oceanside, San Luis Rey and other area clubs in furnishing the necessary equipment to meet the goals of VANC. Architectural renderings of the building, including the kitchen, are available for perusal. Our club members will work with the VANC leadership and contractors to acquire the appropriaste equipment and provide assistance in its installation.
