This project will provide 540 60"x80" sealed, sanitized, hypoallergenic fleece blankets with one of two messages: "Faith" or "Hope". This is a project to supply these to the following groups near Christmastime: Low Income seniors, Homeless shelters, The Catholic Charity Guadalupe Shelter, The Stephens Farm recovery and treatment home for adults with brain injuries, and various senior facilities in the area. We have selected this project due to the blankets being sealed and safe until the recipient(s) open them, increasing safety margins for the recipients and the Rotarians distributing them. We firmly believe that the recipient(s) of these blankets are deserving of our compassion and empathy, to know that the Spirit of the Holidays, through Hope and Faith, are with them even in what for many may be a lonely, unexpected, or harrowing time in their lives.
We will be ordering these blankets so that they will arrive on or about December 1st, to then be distributed by the Greeley After Hours Rotary club in concert with the organizations mentioned above, all of them to be distributed by December 20.
Budget plan and funding: The company that produces the blankets will match each case of 30 blankets bought with a case of 30 blankets at no cost to the ordering organization. One case of Blankets is $387 USD, with this matching offer a case of
these blankets will be $193.50 USD. We intend to order a total of 9 cases, to be matched with 9 free cases of blankets, equaling 540 blankets for distribution, for a total of $3483 USD. Greeley After hours will provide a total of $2483 USD towards this project, with this request for $1000 USD from this grant.
