Malaika Orphanage Children Foundation is a home to 219 kiddos, Orphans, Disabled and HIV infected children. The home lacks access to sufficient and sustainable supply of energy having so many blackouts in a week making it impossible for the children to do their homework hence affecting their education score. There's no way to preserve the children's milk and food. Children digesting left out food get sick periodically and it's very expensive to pay for the electricity bill, which money can be used to provide other children's needs for example tuition, school supplies to mention but a few.
By installing solar panels at the Orphanage home, the following will be achieved:
-Better healthy refrigerated food and baby milk.
-Kids can do their homework anytime hence improvement in education score
-Free source of energy (No more electricity bill)
-Improved security around the orphanage (Security lights)
Solar panel installation takes only 7 days.
The project funds will be used to buy solar panel grids and installation fee. Likely enough, the Rotary Club of Bwebajja in Uganda will represent Arlington Sunset Rotary Club through supervision and management of the project to the end.
