Project Description Country: USA Location: Tempe Total Budget: $2,400 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Scholarship Summary: Scholarships for life skill development for persons with developmental disabilities This is a 2nd grant for this Rotary year from our club. We hope it will be awarded if funds are available. P-3808 is our primary grant we would like funded first. This grant will fund scholarships for 30 persons with developmental disabilities working toward independence to receive scholarships that help with life-skills development. These individuals cannot afford services and have typically exhausted school and state support to help them increase independence. Their goal is to achieve their max potential for independence through participation in programming that promotes increased social skills and life skill development with others. Funds will be used to create scholarships for 30 people at Higher Octave Healing in Tempe, AZ. The programming begins in August and typically run year-round. The year-long experience culminates in a performance project for their community. Some will graduate this year from the program, and some will continue on learning through the program.
