Project Description Country: USA Location: Weatherford, TX Total Budget: $3,000 Area of Focus: Economic and community development Activity Type: Community Development: General Summary: Construct a comunity Garden to provide fruits and begetabesl to those in need. The community garden is located adjacent to Cherry park on a corner lot in a highly visible location ni the city. Not only will citizens in the community be able to see the Community Garden as it develps, but also see the organizations that are helping in the effort. The Garden's chief purpose is to provide fruits and vegetables to those in need. By providing the garden, it will allow those in need, who are on a fixed income or experiencing some other hardship , access to fresh, organic fruits and vewgetables. It will help provide nutritious alternative and aid in building strong minds and bodies thus making for a better community. The Rotary Club of Weatherford is not only committed to assisting in purchasing the equipment but to "get the fdirt" and help with the tiling, plantig, weeding, and harvesting of the produce grwon in the Community Garden. The President of the Club has shown on mopre htan one occasin the willingness to promote the Rotary Club in the newpaper.
