Project Description Country: USA Location: Tinley Park Total Budget: $550 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Literacy Summary: We provide dictionaries to 3rd graders in the Dolton-Rviderdale School District in Dolton, Illinois. Our club continues to partner with a low-income school district to provide dictionaries to their 3rd graders. This community partnership allows us to promote our Rotary Club and promote literacy in one of our neighboring communities. We will purchase the dictionaries and prepare them for distribution in October, 2020. We are always excited to visit the schools in order to make the presentation. This is a project that is very near and dear to our Rotary Club and we have been doing it for well over 15 years. The funds will go to purchase the dictionaries and the Rotary labels that will be placed inside the front cover. All members help with labeling the dictionaries and packaging them for distribution. We always have at least three members of the club present when we deliver the dictionaries to the school. THIS REPLACES P-3368 WHICH WAS DROPPED DUE TO CLUB NOT MEETING DISTRICT REQUIREMENTS TO RECEIVE FUNDING. THOSE REQUIREMENTS HAVE BEEN MET, AND THE DISTRICT GRANT FUNDS HAVE BEEN PAID.
