Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Boise

Total Budget: $1,440

Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy

Activity Type: Education: Literacy

Summary: Provide dictionaries to the five 3rd grade classes

The Rotary Club of Boise Centennial has participated in the Rotary dictionary project since we started and we would like to use this grant to continue again this year. We will provide dictionaries to the five 3rd grade classes that we normally do to help the students increase their literacy and introduce them to Rotary. We plan to have these distributed by November 2021. The Funds from the grant will be used to purchase the dictionaries and the Rotarians in the club will distribute them and instruct the students on how to use them. The cost is approximately $1440 and the club would like to request $1,282 from the District and pay $158.

Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed)

We would like to add an addendum to this project. We created a Little Library for $200 for signage and $40 for registering on their site. We had the materials and labor donated by a club member. We will purchase books to replenish to keep it full using the balance of the funds.

A couple of things regarding your application. A club can only request funds for one project per year. You need to decide whether it will be the Little Library or your dictionary project, and modify your application accordingly. The maximum DDF allowed for 2021-22 grants is $1282. Please adjust your financing too. Today June 1 is the deadline for having your application signed by the primary contact person and the 2021-22 club president. Do this by navigating to the administration side of the description tab to start the signature process.
