Project Description Country: USA Location: San Diego Downtown Total Budget: $1,000 Area of Focus: Maternal and child health Activity Type: Health: Volunteer Services Summary: The MIssion Valley Sunset Rotary Club Proposes the purchase of two stainless steel serving carts for the San Diego Rescue Mission Women and Children's Shelter. The staff of the San Diego Rescue Mission have identified the need for two stainless steel serving carts to help expedite serving meals to women and children who stay in their homeless shelter every night. The Rescue Mission depends on donations of food items and serving utensils to provide food for the families who come to them daily. They have asked the Mission Valley Sunset Rotary Club to provide these serving carts to make serving meals more efficient. The carts cost $400.00/ea. Once we receive the funding, we will purchase the carts and present them to the Rescue Mission. Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed) In addition to the stainless steel carts, the Rescue Mission staff has requested food storage bins for their kitchen to keep food fresh and safe prior to meal preparation. These bins cost $200./ea.
