Project Description Country: USA Location: San Diego, CA Total Budget: $1,000 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Scholarship Summary: Scholarships for two highschool stiudents attending college fall 2020 We intend to use the grant to fund two service-oriented scholarships for our local graduating high school students entering college in the fall of 2022. Our scholarships are reviewed by our Board of Directors and presented at the high school Awards Banquet in the Spring 2022. Each scholarship is for $500. Recipients are chosen based on their commitment to the Rotary motto "Service above self". Applicants are required to submit an application, a short essay on how they plan to fit the motto into their lives after high school, and 1 letter of recommendation from a high school teacher. Total budget is $1000. This scholarship was due April 30th for students and will be presented/announced on June 2nd at Hoover High School by myself, VP Jesus Herrera and President Genesis Maganda.
