We have the opportunity to provide clean water systems in Guatemala so that each family
receiving a system will be able to provide their family with safe and clean drinking water, which will have a dramatic positive effect on the overall health of the family and thereby, the community. Each family that is provided a clean water system also receives training on how to use it correctly for most beneficial and safe usage for their family. The system is a bucket Ecofilter system and can be easily transported back to their home and usually lasts for 2-3 years.
We also provide food, which we purchase in the local community helping build relationships and stimulating their economy. Depending on the size of the Village or Orphanage, we are usually able to provide between 5,000 - 10,000 nutritious meals, thereby easing some stress regarding food deficiencies.
Rotarian Susan Shaw and her daughter Sarah will be going to Guatemala for the training and distribution of the clean water systems at the same time as distributing food and soccer balls. This is planned for July 2022; however, we would like to be able to provide the funds earlier to the 501-c3 that we will be working with called ru4children.
