Project Description Country: USA Location: Wasilla, Alaska Total Budget: $4,000 Areas of Focus: Basic education and literacy, Community economic development Activity Type: Education: Scholarship Summary: Provide a scholarship to a graduating senior from a Mat-Su Borough High School. This scholarship is in honor of Rotarian Pam Hill who passed away in 2021. Pam came from humble beginnings and through grit and determination became a OBGYN Physician, served in the US Army, and worked to improve her community and the world. There are students in our community who because of their family situation have struggled with school, have exhibited the grit and determination to complete high school and has shown steady progress and improvement in their grades throughout their high school career. Many of our club members know students who fall into this category, in addition we have a high school principal and teacher in our club that can assist with attracting the kind of student we desire to compete for this scholarship.
