Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Gooding

Total Budget: $307

Area of Focus: Community economic development

Activity Type: Community Development: General

Summary: Build rock façade around Rotary sign

two years ago we funded the placement of a structure to place our Rotary sign at the entrance to the community, the project left two concrete pillars exposed that are not very attractive. Our plan is to utilize several members to build a wooden frame around the sign that will allow us to place rock in a vertical orientation so that it looks like a rock wall to hide the base of the sign. The purpose of our project is to ensure that Rotary is seen in a attractive and positive way.

Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed)

Due to the cold weather our club has not been able to complete the work, we intend to do so when the weather warms in April or May of 2023.

Your district grant application has been accepted for inclusion in our block grant application to The Rotary Foundation. It has not been approved. Do not spend money on the project until you hear from the district the TRF has approved our grant (sometime this month), as you cannot be reimbursed for expenses incurred prior to TRF approval.

A grant report is due no later than May 15th, 2023. Failure to report by the deadline may impact your club's ability to receive a grant in 2023-24 Rotary year. For final report, download the report form from the administration side of the description tab. Fill it out, being sure that the expenses listed in the report match your receipts and any other documentation of expenses you provide. Upload pdf copies of your report and the receipts to the documents tab of your grant. Then click "reported", a button on the administration side of the description tab. If the project is not done, file a progress report - a history log telling us when you started the project, what % complete you are & when you plan to finish it out. Call Marianne 208 308-5617 if you have questions about reporting.

This is a reminder that you have a report due on this grant by May 15th, 2023. We need an update from your progress report in Jan. If the project is completed your submittal should be a final report. You'll find the report form on the admin side of the description tab for download. Complete the report, save as pdf and upload to the documents tab along with supporting receipts. If project is not complete, provide a progress report by sending a history log email stating when you started the project, what percent complete it is and when you anticipate being wrapped up. That's all we need for a progress report. Failure to report may impact your club's ability to receive a grant in the 2023-24 cycle, so please get your report in. Call Marianne 208 308-5617 if you have questions or need help.

We have met to discuss a possible change to our design, the original plan would have been subject to frost heaves and ultimately shortened the life span of the project, once we have developed a new plan we will secure the materials and schedule construction as soon as possible, the weather is favorable and utility line locating has been done which is required before digging.

Good morning, Due to the difficulty of coordinating the completion of this project, our board of directors have voted at the last directors meeting, to withdraw from grant P-4261. Please let us know if anything further is needed.

You have two years from the time you received your grant money to complete a project. It is the district's preference that you would persevere and try to complete this. If you've determined that finishing it out is not feasible, then please return the grant money to Rotary District 5400, PO Box 9592, Boise ID 83707. Call Marianne if you have questions: (208) 308-5617
