Summary: Milkweed plants and native species for elementary school teachers in San Clemente, California
|
The state curriculum requires elementary education in native plants and in the role of pollinators. The Principal of Las Palmas Elementary in San Clemente has identified the need for indigenous milkweed plants, plants that exemplify native, drought-resistant species and related teaching materials. The local Garden Club will provide expert guidance in the selection of these materials and in teaching the teachers. Six of our Rotarians will guide the project, approve all expenditures and participate in on-site activities. We expect activity in the fall, primarily planning, and in the spring for planting.
