Project Description Country: USA Location: Salmon Total Budget: $500 Area of Focus: The environment Activity Type: Education: Volunteer Services Summary: Supply materials needed to recycle food waste at Salmon High School The Salmon Rotary Club would like to implement a Food waste recycle program at the Salmon Junior/high school cafeteria during the 2022-2023 school year. We would be providing trash containers and compostable bags along with signage to the school for any food waste which would then be used by the FFA Club to feed pigs and chickens. This project would teach the students about recycling and the environment as it will help reduce landfill waste that produces methane gas and results in more tonnage deposited. Rotarians will be on hand the first few days to help FFA students with educating the other students on environmental responsibility and introduce them to volunteering.
