Summary: Anatomical childrens book to be read and distributed to 2nd-3rd graders in Chula Vista Elementary Schools.


Second and third graders at two elementary schools in Chula Vista title 1 schools will be given Ana-Tommy, a childs health book to keep. Purchased by our club.

Ana-Tommy is teaching children in cartoon form how to help their body organs function with proper diet and exercise. This is done through anatomical characters, science fun, and a funny jingle all in a theatrical arena. Students read and act out their body parts as in Lilly the liver etc.

On November 1st, 2013, the Rotary Club of Chula Vista Sunset assembled the 2nd graders at Willow Elementary School in the San Ysidro School District. We distributed 136 Ana-Tommy and Friends, Making Anatomy Fun books,goodie bags and a reading was performed by the Author, Lina Anton-Echeverria and Nataha Camara. The children read and danced to a special jingle. Present were club president Penny Bollinger,Sargent-of-Arms, Terry Hanvey, the above named author and her assistant, Principal Manual Bojorquez, Matthew Paredes, District rep. and principals assistant. The books were a gift to the children.

On November 1st, the Rotary Club of Chula Vista Sunset assembled 136 2nd grade students at the Willow Elementary School in San Ysidro, Ca.

We distributed the Ana-Tommy and Friends, Making Anatomy Fun to all. They also received goodie health bags and danced to a special jingle. The Author Lina Anton-Echeverria and assistant Natasha Camara read aloud as the teachers and students followed along. Present were Club President, Penny bollinger, Sargent-at-Arms, Terry Hanvey, the author named above, principal, Manual Bojorquez, District Rep.Matthew Paredes,and four teachers. Each child took their book home.
