After years of planning by the City of McCook, and a variety of citizen groups, McCook completed the initial phase of the K9 Korner Dog Park, installing fences for both large and small dogs, in early 2022. The next step is to add agility equipment for the dogs, watering stations, trees and benches with funding from Rotary for these amenities. The total budget is $1,451.25 which includes the district contribution of $1,161 and a club contribution of $290.25.
Rotary members will be involved in several ways, from installation of equipment alongside city staff and local professionals, to regular cleanup of the dog park. The project is on-going with items to be purchased and installed as funds become available, August 2022 through April 2023.
In addition, the McCook Rotary Club will be gaining recognition as each stage is completed through news articles and the addition of a donor recognition board. This recognition could assist the club in gaining new membership.
