Community Development: Construction/Renovation
Summary: The Rotary Club of Kemmerer is spear heading a huge project to get a splash pad in our local community.
For years the people of our local communities have tried and tried to get a splash pad in our community but have lacked municipal support. We currently have an outdoor pool in our community, however, this pool is often broken, understaffed, and is in need of many costly repairs, which has caused the pool to be closed many summers. With a splash pad in our community people will be able to take their child outside to play and get exercise on those hot summer days. The timeline for this project will be fundraising this summer and fall with a installation date of June of 2023, with a grad opening of mid July, 2023. The design of the splash pad includes a recirculating water system, to reduce water use. Operational and maintenance cost will be minimal based on design. The Town of Diamondville has already committed to future operational and maintenance cost. Residents, visitors, and tourists are huge supporters of this project. We will be seeking funding from our local communities, community members, local companies big and small, and all the local clubs in our area to make this project possible. As of today we have established municipal support and are starting with a $40,000.00 commitment from the Town of Diamondville for a 1225 square foot splash pad! Rotary is going to be very involved in this project from fundraising the $140,000.00, dedication ceremony (serving food), instillation of educational and literacy activities around the splash pad.
Paid
This project is "Paid". This means that the funds from the district have been issued. This project is now being ready for implementation. When this is done, a report needs to be uploaded on the project page and the "Reported" button needs to be clicked, then the status of the project will be changed to "Reported".
We are getting closer to having this project completed! We are over half way there!
