Project Description Country: USA Location: Kennedale, TX Total Budget: $3,000 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Literacy Summary: Dictionaries will be provided for 3rd grade students at Kennedale ISD elementary schools. This project distributes dictionaries to all 3rd grade students in Kennedale ISD elementary schools. Only 32% of 3rd grade students at Kennedale ISD read at or above grade level as of the 2020 STAAR test. This grant will provide funds for each child to receive a dictionary, with the goal of increasing literacy. The project will be completed in the 2022-23 school year and project funds will be used to cover the cost of the dictionaries and labels.
