Summary: Providing dictionaries to 3rd grade students in Southlake and Grapevine Texas.
Our annual dictionary project distributes dictionaries to local 3rd grade students in Southlake and Grapevine Texas during the fall of the school year. The dictionaries are personally hand delivered by members of the Southlake Rotary Club to the students, and each dictionary has a Rotary 4-way Test sticker inside the front cover. Not only does this project support basic education and literacy in the local community, it also promotes our club and allows for awareness of Rotary with the children, their parents, and the schools. Funds are needed to purchase the books themselves, and the stickers which we apply to each book. Approximately 1,200-1,500 dictionaries are distributed each year, and the majority of the members in our club participate in this project.
