Activity Type:
Community Development: Volunteer Services
Summary: New Rochelle
Due to COVID-19 Pandemic and related economic difficulties, there are many families in our community who do not have enough to eat or afford anything to eat at all. Many of these families will therefore not be able to join others in the celebration of the Thanksgiving this year. HOPE Community Services, a well-known and respected local non-profit organization, has the necessary information on these families and on how best help can be delivered to them. Working with HOPE, Rotary Club of New Rochelle will use the grant money to purchase as many turkeys as the funds will allow for distribution to these needy families during the Thanksgiving season this year (2022). Our Rotary Club members will be directly involved in the purchase and distribution of the turkeys, and to ensure that as many of the families as possible receive and enjoy them. This voluntary service will most certainly be welcomed and appreciated by these families and others. This generous gesture will serve to enhance the perception of Rotary in the community.
