Project Description Country: USA Location: Breckenridge, TX Total Budget: $2,500 Area of Focus: Community economic development Activity Type: Community Development: General Summary: The Community Announcement Sign is a project to construct a permanent frame for the community of Breckenridge to use to display the latest happenings and events throughout town. Currently Breckenridge has a temporary frame, made of t-posts, in the Pocket Park at the main intersection of Highways 180 and 183. The Community Announcement Sign is a project to construct a permanent sign to allow for interchangeable banners to be displayed to the community. This frame is used by volunteer fire departments to announce fundraisers, the Chamber of Commerce, the City of Breckenridge, and many other non-profit organizations throughout town. The City of Breckenridge oversees the Pocket Park and will be responsible for booking. We will work alongside the welding program at Texas State Technical College in Breckenridge, TX, who have graciously agreed to provide the labor for free, and we will supply the cost of the materials.
