Project Description Country: USA Location: Fairbanks Total Budget: $6,000 Area of Focus: Community economic development Activity Type: Community Development: General Summary: 2-3 Park benches to be purchased and installed at Sunrisers Rotary Playground Pavilion, in Fairbanks AK Fairbanks Sunrisers Playground Pavilion was dedicated in 2015. Since then, a need that has been discussed with Fairbanks North Star Borough (FNSB) Parks and Recreation is a need to have benches at the park for parents and others to sit on, rather than the ground. Sunrisers Rotary proposes purchasing and installing 2-3 metal benches to meet this need. The benches to be installed will meet the boroughs specifications. The benches will be installed on a concrete base. The project expense is for the purchase of the benches, shipping, materials (concrete, sonotubes, sand)and installation. Installation will be done with Sunrisers Rotary members with the assistance of a local contractor. The timeline would be to have these ordered and installed by fall 2023. We are partnering with the FNSB on guidance for installation, similar to other area parks.
